We’ve introduced Prompt Completions in Augment for VS Code, making it faster and easier to craft effective prompts when working with agents.

Previously, users needed to fully articulate prompts on their own — leading to slower workflows, especially for teams writing detailed specs or guidance for agents. Prompt Completions provide smarter, context-aware suggestions that help users express intent quickly and accurately.

What’s New

• Inline prompt auto-complete in the agent input box, offering natural-language suggestions, variable names, test targets, and more as you type.
• File location auto-complete, making it easier to reference files or parts of the codebase without having to navigate manually.
• Completions are powered by full codebase context + agent history, enabling more accurate suggestions than those limited to recent file activity.

• Reduces friction for users who spend significant time writing prompts (e.g., spec-driven workflows).
• Helps users get better results from agents by discouraging under-specified or unclear prompts.
• Deep codebase awareness means suggestions stay relevant even if you haven’t touched a file in weeks.

• Included for all users with an active subscription.
