On March 31, we plan to sunset the Augment Code Next Edit and Completions features in our IDE extensions for users on Indie, Standard Max, and Legacy plans.
When we launched Augment Code in 2025, AI-powered completions and edit suggestions helped developers accelerate everyday coding tasks. Over the past few months, however, we’ve observed global usage of Next Edit and Completions decline as forward-leaning developers shift toward agent-centric workflows.
Software development is rapidly moving to higher levels of abstraction. Developers are no longer working primarily at the level of individual lines of code; instead, they are orchestrating fleets of agents across tasks.
As these workflows evolve, we’re focusing our efforts on the areas where we can deliver the most leverage for our customers, including Intent, our newest product for multi-agent orchestration.
Next Edit and Completions will continue to be supported for Enterprise plans for now. Enterprise customers will receive separate communications ahead of any future changes.
We remain committed to delivering an experience that reflects the forefront of where AI for code is headed.
