We’ve put together a top-notch engineering team, on par with the best AI labs, but with extensive expertise in applying AI to code. Our team members have contributed to groundbreaking research in this field, and continue to do so at Augment Code.
Igor dove head-first into generative AI in 2021 as Sutter Hill Ventures’ Engineer in Residence, leading to the founding of Augment Code. Before this, as a Chief Architect at Pure Storage, he led the technical development of FlashBlade to $2B lifetime sales. His earlier experiences included a 6-year tenure at Microsoft and reaching the ACM ICPC World Finals in 2007.
Guy joined Augment Code from Google where he led a research team that focused on understanding and improving deep learning systems — including training large language models to solve hard reasoning tasks, and contributing to Google’s PaLM series of models (the forerunners of Gemini). He holds a Ph.D in theoretical physics from the Weizmann Institute of Science.
Dion's career has always involved building developer products and platforms across startups and Big Tech companies. As a Google Director his products were used by millions of developers across areas such as Chrome, Search, and Android. He has brought his passion for helping developers succeed in roles such as VP of Developer Experience at Shopify, Director at Mozilla and Palm and his own startups. He is still just a developer at heart.
Evan has always been drawn to the challenge of startups. Prior to Augment Code, Evan joined Pure Storage as the first Engineering leader, where he helped scale the Engineering team from tens to hundreds across three business units in the role of VP Eng. Evan began his career in Quality Assurance and has a deep appreciation of automated testing and developer productivity.
Prior to Augment Code, “Dietz” served as CEO of Pure Storage. Under his leadership, Pure grew from 0 to >$1B in revenues and from 15 to thousands of employees, as well as went public. Dietzen is a four-time successful entrepreneur with WebLogic, Zimbra and Transarc as well as Pure. He earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science with an emphasis on Machine Learning from Carnegie Mellon University.
